Exhaust opinions please
Hey, I need your opinions. I purchased a UPR X-Pipe. I am undecided as to how I want my set up to be. Here are the options.
1- Bolt the x-pipe w/ high flow cats straight up to the stock mufflers and cat back system. This would be stock headers, the x-pipe w/cats and stock mufflers with chrome tail pipes. 2-bolt up the x-pipe w/ cats and take off the mufflers running straight pipes. My 96 had an H-pipe with cats and thats all. I loved how it sounded. minus the pop off sound when letting out of it. It sounded sweet. My stock mufflers don't sound bad, actually they are quiet nice much louder than others I have heard. What do you think? As far as sound and power? |

I personally, have never liked the sound of a non-muffler vehicle

Is there any HP/performance difference in each option?

Weld some Borla XR1's into the stock catback or have an exhaust shop put a catback with 2.5" mandrel bent tubing together for you, and run that setup with the X pipe. I'm guessing you want it loud since you talk about no mufflers, and this setup will be plenty loud without sounding like a dump truck.
