My truck calls for 11 quarts but it normally takes 12 with the filter.................



Oh wait I have a good truck my truck is a Dodge.

I put 7 qts w/ filter and mine shows over full mark. Quite a few tolerances can stack up to affect the dipstick reading. I trust the manual for the first fill and keep an eye on the level, but it doesn't move much between changes.
