Idle problems

NEED info, I got a new 306 with GT40 alumium heads,typhoon intake 70mmtb,70mm mas B303 cam long tubes x pipe ,flows.having trouble with idleing. it wants to idle @ 1100rpms some times @1500.some times below 900.what will cause this? 2nd whats a good timming set point?it runs like junk@14degrees,runs like hell @ 28degrees.I think my i might be one tooth off or two, with with the distribiter? any thoughts? thanks!

Your throttle position sensor (TPS) is probably hanging up. If the voltage is above 1.000 volt when the throttle is closed, the idle will stay higher than normal until the TPS goes below 1 volt.

Try blipping the throttle a few times when it's idling high and see if it drops down.

what year car is it in? On the timing, i assume you are pulling the spout and replacing it after setting timing, correct? If you are total timing it, i would imagine it would bad sluggish, and 28* would be like the computer advancing it.

thanksguys! ,it's a 88GT converted to mas air. i have ckd for vac leaks,i'ts doing good right now.read ed else where the B cam had an erratic idle. I need some 3.73s. this thing will haul ass!my BRO has a set up close to mine,with the gears. it moves! we got some (shitvy) chevy but to kick!!
