Sn95 Pbr Caliper Swap
I am still on the fence as to if this is actually a good idea or not, being that you are removing metal from the spindles, but I figured it would be good tech info for anyones that wants to do the swap.

We dont drive space ships. Do you realize how LITTLE material you need to take off? Do it. I spent $50 for my 2000 calipers. worth every penny.

pbr brakes i purchased for $50,the upgrade is wellworth it.
pbr brakes installed with drilled and slotted rotors look good and i have alot better stopping power i used wagner thermoquiet pads. before install after install this site http://sn95brakes.com/sn95brakes.php will help you with the install its very simple....you can contact me for more info on this swap. basically you just remove the old calipers and grind about 5mm off each "ear" of the caliper mounting bolt hole which took me about 10 minutes to do both with a hand grinder, the link above will give you exact grinding locations (pics.). and i had to purchase 2 banjo bolts 95 models and down have the coarse threads the 96 models and up pbr brakes have the fine threads. i purchased fine thread the banjo bolts at the dealer for $12. usually when you buy a set of pbr's the seller keeps the original banjo bolts for his upgrade application. you can use the stock rubber brake lines but the passenger side will have to have the boss that the banjo bolt attaches thru ground on one end about 1/8th of an inch will need to be removed to fit into recessed area simple to do took 3 mins. then i sold my old calipers on e-bay for $30... total cost $50 for pbr's,$12 for banjo bolts,$17 for caliper paint, new pads $45,had fluid on hand i took this opportunity to flush the entire system.minus $30 for selling old calipers = $94 well worth it where else can you get double caliper pistons for that price....and if you wan't to rebuild them before application i believe you can get a rebuild kit for less than $10. http://sn95brakes.com/sn95brakes.php and also the people at maximum motorsports http://www.maximummotorsports.com/ are very knowledgable on this subject. they can tell you everything you need for just about any brake application and sell you the parts you need. they helped me alot during this application with accurate information.

I put PBR calipers on my 89GT. The amount of material that needs to be removed can be done with a dremel. As long as you don't use a plasma torch to remove the metal, you won't critically weaken the spindles. I'll post up pictures of my swap when I get home.

If you saw how much material I had to remove from my rear calipers to run 15" Bogart wheels for Slicks .. . . you wouldnt even worry about that little bit of metal removal
