Best 2v 4.6 block?
I want buy a motor to put on the motor stand to slowly start buying parts for. Are all the 2v 4.6 blocks the same or is there a good block that i need to get? i plan on this being a 5.0 storker one day.

The mustang GT and 03 cobra blocks are cast iron. The 01 and earlier cobra blocks are aluminum. The best block that I know of is the mach 1 block. Its aluminum as well but the sleeves or something is thicker than the traditional cobra blocks

Yup. My dad has PI heads on a Teskid block. 93-98 Aluminum blocks are the best b/c they are aluminum (lighter) and stronger than the 99+ alum blocks. How much power do you plan on making. If its less that 1,000+rwhp, ANY 4.6 block will be fine. Just depends if you want the extra 70 lbs of the iron block...

i would get a navigator motor, 4v of course. but if you are wanting to build a 4.6 motor, any mustang, or truck block should do. they designed the block very well. i would get a low milage non p.i. motor just because of the price and extra stuff that you might need for the build.

Yeah teskid blocks are supposed to be one of the strongest. The mach one blocks are pretty stout as well. Like what was said above the aluminum blocks are more of a weight savings than anything else.

I was thinking 500 or 600 to start with and be safe if i wanted to move to no more than 800. What do the mid 90s police cars come with?

Any 4.6L block will be fine at those power levels. I'd be far more concerned with picking the right internals.
