5.4 4v 2000
i have decided that i am going to build a 5.4 4v motor for my 2000. my primary goal with this project is to buld a 1000+ hp turbo car. from the start i am just going to drop in a mostly stock navigator motor with a sullivan intake and cams. basically i am building a cobra r, but without the cobra trim. its pretty much going to be a track car, alot like 96gts car. so i thought i would be different and build a 5.4 4v instead of the 2v. so any info about the transmission (clutch) and wiring harness would be helpful. here are some pics of my gt
the mustangs apperance has changed, right now i took off the wing and added 03 cobra rocker panels and hood.

if your goal is just 1000hp you really don't need a super radical build with a turbo 5.4 4v...alot of people make that with the dohc 4.6 with a turbo...al papito ran 9.98 with an NA 5.4 4v

It would be alot less of a hassle to make that kind of power with a 4.6 4v. You could still go 11s with a bolt on 4.6 4v before you go turbo. |

a 5.4 4v is really easy with a navi long block and a sullivan intake. that was what i was thinking of doing after my first 5.4 blew. but i want a 850rwhp 2v 5.4 first.

i plan on putting a massive single turbo, but i dont know what mm its going to be. i guess you can say the 5.4 is the equivilent of the old push rod 5.8, and you can get 17 percent more hp over the 4.6. what i want to do from the start is make it a a fast NA car then turbo it in the future. i always loved the 4v motors and having more cubic inches sounds pretty sweet. i am also keeping the manual so i can have a little fun in it.

i will say building it fast na and then doing turbo isn't the best idea, NA= high compression, turbo needs much lower compression...you would have to change pistons when you went turbo |
