Opinions ....
Someone ..... ..... has been trying to convince me that with the current mods that my engine can't handle the 150 shot without any work on the bottom end. Does he have a point here or is he just being his usual assidness?

With the Hyper-pathetic pistons, a 100-125 shot would be a little safer, but with a nice fat tune you could probably hit the 150 for a while. tick, tick ,tick ... you get the idea. :P

BS It is all in the tune. Since you have the trick flow intake, I would recomend getting the spray bar that mounts in between your upper and lower intake to eliminate the risk of fuel puddling in the upper intake. Do that, and run it a bit on the fat side and you will be just as safe as you would on a 125 shot.

Has the "block splitting" Horsepower/Torque figure ever been determined?

With a wet kit she would not have to worry about adding extra fuel thru the tune, the nitrous system adds more than enough with their jetting charts that come with the kits.
My stock pistons were still in good shape with no signs of cracking in the ring lands or anywhere else for that matter. On that motor I had burnt 3 valves from the dry kit going lean and it also detonated a few times on the high end. My suggestion is get a good fuel pump, get a good ignition and drop two heat ranges in plugs with them gapped at .030" to .035" to avoid spark blow out.

Not yet. I haven't taken it back to the dyno since the mods. I'm not even going to try and run the nitrous until I get a better fuel pump and regulator. It was running waaayy to lean with the nitrous. I'm really anxious though to see the gains. With the juice and nothing but a "B" cam and cold air intake it ran 312hp and 514 ft lbs torque. |

One of the pistons finally let go after he removed the nitrous and force 14psi with the D-1 blower.

I still don't think it's a good idea to spray your dd. I'm not the best example in the world of that but, on the other hand, my engine doesn't have close to 200k miles on it either.
