he could but he is going to need to swap out everything in the tank to change to returnless including the pump electrical connector.

Just a whole lot easier to stay with the 96-98 system

hahahahaa i am about to kill myself

took me all of friday to strip the interior and dash and all wiring from firewall to trunk. then i started to install the 1999 dash wire, went ok so far i know i need more things ( airbags for a 1999 mustang, air bag comp and pats chip. ) thats just for the dash

body harness went rather well

every wire matched up except for 3 things there is a weird 3 pronh plug that is like gray outside and yellow inside that i have no clue for,

door connector is the same butwiring does not match up so i will ge schematics and rewire the connector.

of course fuel pump wiring is different than the old wiringm 3 wires to 6

now for my headache

i had the guy send me the engine bay harness, main under hood fuse block thursday,

he didnt send it til friday so i wont get it today, which gave me a whole 2 days to just sit and look at my stang in pieces, had tears to my eyes and was itching to get on it!

so today since i am working the next 3 days 12h ours shifts, i have to have my mechanic do the rest of the wiring intall ( @ 60.00 per hour)

and he is slow as hell

now i am hoping i can get this in the reinstall the dash then finish her up

i have a few more questions

under the dasy driver side there are 2 big connectors square black outside and red inside, they were not on the old harness and there is currently no where to plug them into, does anyone know if they re on the engine bay harness?

also pats and steering collum

i am hearing scary things about pats, so i have the 1999 gt eec from 1 car and the 1999 gauges from a 2nd car, but a 1997 steering collum am i going to need to change steering collums? ( can i just disable the pats ?

i allready found out the turn signal switch is different( 45 bucks)

as for the gas tank, i wanted to switch to the gt tank becuse its bigger, about 6 gallons bigger basically everything will be from a 1999 gt

all wiring front to rear( except door wiring tail light wiring and headlight wiring) will be 1999

i know i am getting close but i am still worried. any help would be apreciated

thanks

mark

i was not trying to be a dick. it just sounds like a whole lot of work. but when you get done you have a lot to be proud of.

No problem man,

i have to say it was fun, i stripped my poor stang from stock to bare metal from the interior fire wall to the trunk, then re wired it all back with the 1999 gt wiring

was fun

do you know it only takes 17 nuts/bolts to remove the entire dash?

if i ever do this again i would definatly get a donor car

One thing is, when you get done you will know your car from top to bottom

Oh yeah there shouldn't have been a volume differenc in the gas tanks. Both should have been around 15 gallons

i know one thing, there are way to many wired on these cars , too much room for problems,

my next project will be my 64 gmc pickup n i will jsut go old school big block with supercharger who needs gas milage anyways

but in reality , i do like knowing everything about my car now , i can do everyting but get into the engine

so +1 for expierence

Sounds like you are good to go.

I am doing a GT swap in my 2000 hopefully by next summer. I have almost all the parts. just have to get a rad fan and an engine basically.

Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.
