Torque converter questions

I'm looking at getting a 24-2600 stall B&M converter from a guy on the corral for my AOD,at a VERY good price. My question is,will a non lockup still allow the overdrive to function? I've always been under the impression that only the lock up type would still let the OD function. He said it's a non lockup, but his OD still funtioned in his car, which is making me think he might be mistaken about it being a non lockup.

I think this guy is probably mistaken on the non lockup part. He's a good guy that I trust, and have bought parts from him on there before. He's selling it to me for $100 + shipping!

Somebody else can correct me on this, but i am pretty sure that the lockup part does not have anything to do with the o/d function on your tranny

Your OD will still work just fine. That whats in the vert (3000 with a non lock up) The lock up function lowers the rpm maybe 200 rpms in OD. Sounds like a pretty good deal perfect for you Eric.

I was thinking there was a difference in input shafts for lockup and non-lockup. I'd find an authority on the AOD just to make sure.

Well,he said it was an 11" (which in summit is the non locker),and it worked in his stock AOD 3 shaft.
