go with the 331!!! I have a had several 347's and always have a block issue. 350hp is easy to get even with a 306.With your hp goal you wont have to have tip top parts so it will be easy on the wallet.Do you plan on lots of street miles with the car? pm me your specs on current engine.

I built a 302 (+0.030) with some GT40P heads (that had been hogged out by the previous owner), Pro Products 4bbl intake w/an Edelbrock 600 carb (customer request), and a rather healthy cam (cant remember exact specs) and made right around 320hp.

Piston to rod ratio is not that great on a 347 life will be shorter 351 will live longer under same hp conditions. I say big block or bust lol

on a serious note though. 331 afr 205s w/ 58cc chambers big cam and pop up pistons. with a little spray that would be almost more than what you are looking for. and the good thing is that it wouldnt be like a supercharger or turbo to where the power is there all the time. you would just have a little kick in the pants incase a damn f body idiot thinks hes hot shit.

I guess that is just personal preference.

Always on > bottle refills. If you don't want it "always on", just don't mash the pedal down as far.

Why wouldn't you want the power there all the time?
