Wheel backspacing

Can anyone tell me the proper backspacing and offset for 17x9 wheels for the fox bodies?

5.71"/18mm, 5.94"/24mm, ??/20mm ?

Re: Wheel backspacing

I can't rememeber but I was thinking that 5.94 is the sn95 offset and 5.7" was for the fox

Re: Wheel backspacing

just checked...on a fox you use the 5.71/+20mm offset with a 9" wheel

the wheel's that we've found so far are ... [see attached links]

4 lug - 5.71" / +18mm , 5.94" / + 24mm , and ??" / 20mm

5 lug - 6.12" / ?? , 5.95" / 26mm , and 6.02" / 26mm

one other thing, will 255's be the largest tire she can run up front?

Re: Wheel backspacing

please do not put 03 cobras on the car...thats all you see on fox bodies now......put some argent fr500's on it......and the 255 can be used in the front but may scrub a little on deep turns.i would only do a 245 on the front

Re: Wheel backspacing

255/40 will work fine and be less likely to scrub than a 245/45 because of the lower sidewall profile that it offers.

With the 5.9 offset the wheel 'may' sit in to far but we are only talking around a hair over a 1/4" difference. Of course that maybe enough to limit tire sizes that you can run on the rear due to rubbing on the quad shock.

Brian had some small spacers at one time for a 5-lug car. Get the wheels and trial fit them. If they don't work without hitting something, get some 1/4" spacers to put on and they should work without a problem
