Freshly Painted Calipers
I just got done painting the calipers on my T-Bird red, and I am more than happy the way they turned out. A little advice fo r anyone looking to paint their calipers, use brush on paint. This is the third paint job I've completed on a set of brakes, but the first time I've used brush on enamel. Spray enamel blows because you have to tape off absolutely everything you don't want paint on. Also the likelihood of it running is super high.
I went with the kit from duplicolor which was a little more expensive, but was the only way I could get the brush on paint. It came with the paint(more than enough for four calipers), brush, masking tape, and brake dust cleaner. If anyone reading this decides to use this kit save yourself some time and go buy a good paintbrush and some real masking tape. The supplied tape and brush suck really bad. It was too dark for pictures when I finished, but I wil get some up tommorow afternoon. |
