I'm FINALLY Legitimate

Well I'm the new proud owner of an 88 hatch. She's a bit rough, but she's all there. I traded my old third gen for it and brought it home tonight. She needs some tlc, but damn she sounds GOOD. The tranny needs some adjustment (I think its just the cable, but won't know for sure till tomorrow when I can possibly get it on a lift and take a look) Not sure if the tranny is going out or just low on fluid. But hey sometimes its the little surprises in life that make it interesting. I'm so happy right now, I've been wanting a fox for a LONG time, and now I've got one. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get home from work, its too dark to really take any now.

Thanks guys I was so excited that I went and took a few crappy night time pics anyway.

Here they are...

I don't expect anyone to go ga-ga over it, but I'm EXTREMELY happy with it.

Thanks guys, well after putting the car in the air and taking a good look at it, well I've got the typical fox oil leaks (small one from the rear main seal, and the valve covers too, but I kinda expected that) the tranny still has shifting issues, but after a bit of wheeling and dealing I've managed to secure a built aod w/converter from a good friend, thus the tranny issues are a non-issue as long as I manage to keep the current one from just grenading on me.

Speaking of the current one, while it looks like the shifter cable is gone the way of the way of my stomach (stretched to all hell) I'm not overly worried about it. Just knowing I've got another GOOD one in the wings (just waiting on complete payment) is a massive load off my mind. I'll be replacing the windshield this weekend, as well as the valve cover gaskets (which wont require any more removal than the upper manifold to get all the bolts I HOPE) so that will take care of the main oil leak issues. I'll be replacing the rear main seal when the tranny gets done so that should wrap up all the oil leak issues right there.

Over all its nothing more than I am prepared for, but I really wish the tranny wasn't an issue... but well when life gives you lemons, you call a good friend w/replacement parts and make some lemon aid.
