ranger roller cam swap?
When doing a ranger roller cam swap on a 88 2.3 non roller head, what is all needed to do the swap correctly?
I got the cam and roller followers. I think I need HD lifters, do I need new valve springs off a roller cam head, new valves and keepers, and new cam bearings of a certain type?

Most of the time the stock springs are good. On high lift cams or big vales you will have to go to bigger springs. I got a new set of lifters on my big valve head and one of them just came apart after a weekend of hard driving.
I have an old set in there now with no problems. If you have the head off its time to get the valve job and everything, Do it once and do it right. Some machine shops will clean up the bowl area for you some and then a nice 3 or 5 angle valve job will help. Try not to get any cut off the deck of the head. Turbos like low compression.
