Before you can do a whole lot you need to convert it to mass air,in my opinion.

I didn't catch that it was a pre-mass car until I re-read his post.

Yes Craig, Preston is right. You need a MAF conversion

Like already said you need to do the mass air conversion first if your going to swap cams. The speed density cam is a little more aggresive than the 89 and later cams and you could do a head and intake swap without jumping to mass air from what I understand but I would go ahead and swap to mass air and install a cam as well. The GT40p's will require some special header due to spark plug angles. Some people clearence there current headers to allow enogh clearence to get by for a while. The GT40p's will be much better than your current E7's. The trick flow spring upgrade would be a good choice. I would also try to find a used cobra or possibly a explorer intake (nearly the same) while I was doing the swap. As far as cams go I'm not a huge fan of letter cams but I've had decent luck with a B303 before. I would personally go with the trick flow stage 1 or the crower 15511 like I'm gonna use in my GT40 cobra combo.

Whats the head shaking for? Is that a bad thing or what? Do you disagree? I want to do whats best, but also on a budget. At this point I think I am going to just spend a little time and money making the car look good. I can do that pretty easy. I can wait and hopefully find that 351w that I want.

no point to go to a carb, they make injectors that will flow however much you need
