Spec 3+

Anyone know where the best price on one of these can be found?
I currently have a Spec 3 and im upgrading the tranny to a 26 spline input and I heard the 3+ is a little easier on the tranny.
Thanks Pat

Re: Spec 3+

3+ is still a high-clamp clutch...only way to be easy on tranny is to drive it easy. It won't slip when your racing; and that's what's hard on stock tranny's. You should do okay with the 26-spline upgrade.
PM me with your car specs and horsepower goals and I will give you a price. I work there.

Re: Spec 3+

I believe a 3+ is the route I am going to go when I replace mine, as before the life of the next clutch is past I hope it gets a chance to hold more than 507 ft lbs.

A 2+ or 3 is plenty

Re: Spec 3+

if your looking for a lil less umphhhh but still enough to get you what you need I suggest the centerforce DFX.....mean clutch but still has streetmanners

I run a regular Centerforce Dual Friction in mine, drives like stock, but hold 650+whp just fine.

give www.lethalperformance.com a hollar, they will meet or beat anyones price on centerforce DFX setups.

another mislead one....

37k mile stock shafts here, over 150+ track passes on them, held countless amount of 700 ft/lb tq bottle launches as well. Now car is on the KB with less tq, no reason they shouldnt hold, if they dont, oh well, they are stock, ive gotten my use from them.

Its all about the sidewall, if your wheelhoppin the car all over the street, expect to break some parts. Hell I seen more solid axle cars towed off on flatbeds last track rental then I thought was humanly possibly.

Have you ever run anything equivlent to a SPEC 3+ on your half-shafts?

The Centerforce is a nice clutch, but it doesn't hit anywhere near as hard as a SPEC.

yes, I had about 30+ passes and 3000 miles with a spec3 on 26x11.5x16 ET Streets running mid 1.5's, and it started to slip shortly after just outa the hole, then it broke my stock 10 spline input shaft on a 3-4 shift, has a liberty 26 in it now.

Its just a big misconception that the stock halfshafts break like twigs when infact they are a nice 31 spline unit that do decent when you dont hop them like a madman on the street, and launch them on a tire that will absorb some of the shock.

Hits plenty hard enough for me

Here is another soft launch on a centerforce

The spec is a nice clutch, just throwing my 2 cents out there. Its an on/off clutch IMOP, I think it leaves some to be desired in the driveability dept.
