What is happeninig is your starter is staying energized for 3-5 seconds upon startup and wiring it correctly as I showed will cure this problem.


Its not staying energized it's grinding while starting

EDIT: I put the wires as u say but it still does the same thing i think it may be my battery because it's turning over slowly that may be causing it to do what it's doing and the compression of the motor so ill jus save up some money and get a good ass battery like those optima or somthing whatever i can afford, thanks alot for the help, i'de like to stick around this place

low battery is not going to cause the starter to grind. If you did what qkjuiced mentioned, then the starter and flywheel are not aligned correctly OR the ring gear on the flywheel are totally screwed up. Need to remove the starter and look at the teeth on the bendix and on the flywheel

Should I try useing a shim, how do i figure out what year the motor is i think that may be the problem i may have the wrong flywheel

is it a real old motor? What year are you buying the starter for?

its Torque Mini Starter i dont knoe the year of it ima take the starter off tomorrow and see what the serial number is then i can tell what year the motor is then ill go get a flywheel tomorrow
