Not yet. I was going to get a 3", but after throwing the upper on top of the nitrous plate, I'm kind of afraid that I may have to go bigger.

I'll probably get the motor dropped in this weekend and take a measurement and order the hood on Monday.

No, I won't be putting the cage in myself. Most likely I will remove all the interior and take it someplace to have it installed and then put the interior back myself.

It does look really tall. Atleast it'll have the balls to back up the tall hood.

Just cut a hole in the stock hood.

Wow, that looks great!

Are you sure on the height issues/hood clearance. I know there are some guys on the corral running a stock hood with a 351w, believe it or not. Some type of dropped motor mounts, I believe.

I would think you could get it all under a 3" cowl, course I don't know what type of upper intake you are running...

The only drop mounts I could find are all solid -- since mine is mostly a street car, I didn't want to go that route. Also, my 7-quart Canton pan will not allow for drop-mounts. Lee is running the same type pan on his 306 and we actually had to place shims under the stock motor mounts to keep the pan off of the steering rack/K-member. On top of that, I have offset rack bushings which may cause me even more clearance issues on the bottom. The bottom line is, my motor is not going to be able to drop any lower.

Another thing to remember is that I have a nitrous plate which adds another 3/4" to the height of an already tall intake.

Okay, care to give us the specs on it again? What camshaft did you go with? I'm anxious to see the numbers.
