SVO strut fitment

Is there a physical and functional difference between struts for a SVO vs a regular fox mustang?

I do know the top of the sturt mount / bushing )the onion head design) was different, thus I thought they were slightly longer, but I cannot confirm this

Years ago, I put struts on my first '86 SVO...I couldn't afford the Konis so I got some Monroes for an 86 mustang GT...didn't fit. Not sure about 87-93 cars but I ended up getting struts for a Lincoln Mark VII and they fit.

79-86 mustangs used a different spindle, the same one as found on the 87-93 4 cyl cars. The SVO, Lincoln Mark 7 and 87-93 5.0 Mustangs all had the same spindle.

The mounts are like toomanymustangs said. Other types can be used with spacers and some hole slotting. Pretty easy work and common because of the high price of the konis'.
