Re: cam/head combo ?'s

How much power do you want. Those GT-40y's like what's on your dad's cobra are a pretty good bang for the buck. You have several of us on here running aluminum heads, each a different brand.

Just kinda goes with what you want to spend too. GT-40y's and Edelbrocks are 2 of the cheapest. Next up is trickflow and after that is AFR. All of them offer pretty major gains over what you have now.

I agree with Qwksnake. All are much better heads than stock.
I have a friend that uses TFS heads with the E303 and GT40 Tubular intake. He made 297rwhp/324rwtq. That was on a low mileage(rebuilt+50K miles) 306 with stock compression.

Yeah, Nathan wants to hit as close to N/A 300 rwhp as possible.

Re: cam/head combo ?'s

I wouldnt go with the Twisted wedge heads, because over i belive .540 lift it may be .545 lift you have to go to a twisted wedge piston. Another thing is that the Twisted wedges do not flow well out of the box. At .500 lift and 600 lift they flow the same thing. Its a good head for a limited cam lift class, such as P/S or S/W headsup class. I would go with AFR's

Re: cam/head combo ?'s

actually Stephen, its between .525-.530 lift that is the most you are recommended to go with on stock pistons with those heads.

Re: cam/head combo ?'s

I actually prefer a TW over an AFR; but that's because I wouldn't leave them "out of the box" stock. Bang for the buck: get the very inexpensive GT40-Y's and a TFS stg1 camshaft. trust me.
