Moving along ever so slowly. But time isnt important for me. Figure the longer this car sits, the more cash I save
Heres whats left: Lift cage back up and weld to subframes Weld rear down bars Weld seat harness bar Weld kicker bars Install interior, dash, etc Weld door bars Paint it all If you cant weld all the way around the tube, its required to weld a gusset. I dont like the way those look, so we dropped the cage through the floor and my buddy was able to TIG all the way around. Much cleaner/stronger IMO. Here it is w/ a coat of primer on it.

Sorry the pics are a little blurry. Guess I got too close...
This guy is bad ass. He's been welding since the 70s and works for Boeing aerospace now getting paid ALOT. Plus he LOVES Fords, so I knew he was the man to take it to. Plus its free And that beats $110-150 per weld that a chassis shop would charge.

thats :
Yeah, I have a guy here at work that does all my aluminum welding, he is aerospace certified and been welding for over 20 years. I also get him to weld the tedious stuff with a TIG that I cant do with my home MIG. |
