pistons

does anybody know what pistons come in the ford racing gt-40 crate motor,the reason im asking is it come with gt-40x heads an one of them ended up cracking,so i didnt have any money so i put some e7s back on it,an now i got a set of the big vavle edelbrock performers wondering if the vavle notches is big enough?

which crate motor? or more specifically which cam is in the engine now

check the piston to valve clearance.

it came with the b cam an now i got a comp extreme energy 282 565/574 lift

Probe is in all the crate motors as of now...not sure when they started, but you can call them.

the motor come from jegs in 03 i know its got hyper pistons

Okay...I stand corrected: Probe pistons are currently used in the 347, 351W, and 460 FRPP crate motors; starting in around 2003. Before that, those engines had Speed Pro pistons...

As for your 302 "GT40" engine, I would suspect it has Speed Pro's in it... but you'll still have to check the PTV clearance no matter the brand. It'll either go or no go.
