What are you guys' opinions on that girdle. I've often wondered if it's really necessary with good studs, rockers, and quality heads. Seems more of a gimick, but heck, the serious motors seeing 1000+ hp and 8-9k+ RPM have to have them. But on a street motor under 6500 RPM? Just curious.

RPM + mega boost + stock block (mexican, even) = split block, IMHO.
