Charger Pulley too small??

OK.. I may have went overboard with the charger pulley size.. The car had a Vortech V1 SC-Trim with a 3.33" 6 rib. I installed a 2.50" 10 rib kit. The car has not even been on the road with the new pulley set-up. Sooooo Is the 2.50" charger pulley too small for a SC-Trim? Is that spinning the charger beyond it's RPM range? Or should I go with a 2.95" or 3.12" to be safe?

Heres a little more motor info:

- Holley SystemMax Intake
- Edelbrock 75mm throttle body
- Ford 42lbs injectors
- Coolingmist Duel Stage Meth/Water Injection
- C&L/Vortech 80mm MAF
- SVO 1.6 Roller Rockers
- Trick Flow Track Heat Camshaft
- In tank 255lph Fuel Pump
- Smog Pump Delete Pulley
- Ford Racing A/C Delete Bracket
- E7 CNC Heads
Precision C.N.C. Ported
1.90 X 1.60 Forged Stainless Steel Valves
Dual Valve Springs (.570 lift)
Titanium Retainers - 7 to 10 Degree
Wire Lock Receiver Grooves
Screw In Studs with Guide Plates
- BBK equal length shortie Headers
- BBK Offroad X-pipe
- Flowmaster American Thunder Catback

As far as I know, the block is stock. I don't know about the rods or pistons. A CHP 347ci will be put in this Fall.

Thanks,
Carl

Re: Charger Pulley too small??

If you call vortech direct they will give you a formula to find the exact rpm of supercharger. I had it wrote down but seemed to have lost the paper I know on the s trim you have to keep it below 50,000 rpm. I'll look at work to see if its wrote down in my box. vortech # 805-247-0226

I think I'm a bit too small on the pulley.. It looks like the impeller speed is at 56925 with the 2.50 charger pulley & 6.875 crank pulley @ 6000rpm..

Thanks for the link.

Thanks.. They are a bit overkill... 13" up front & 12" in the rear... The down side is now I can't run a nice tall slick & front runner.

With a spacer on the front you can run a skinny. I am sure that a 16" slick can be worked around the 12" brakes also

oh yeah.

Spacers should take care of the front, but I'm not sure about running a 15" rim over the 12" rotors on the back.

Re: Charger Pulley too small??

The 16" rears should work... I'm not too sure about the front runners.. It looks like if I use a spacer.. It will put the wheel outside the fender lip... As it is now... I can't fit a finger between the caliper & the inside of the 17" wheel.

My other option was to use the Prostar XP's

17x8 Front
17x9.5 Rear

I just need to find a good 17" slick..

I've got 15x3.5" skinnies and I use a 5/16" spacer on mine and they clear the brakes fine.

Here's a pic of where my front wheels sit in race trim:
