Cobra IRS in a SVO

I have seen a coupe of these done and now it is my turn. Have tried a few things on the svo to get the rear more stable. Pan hard bar and lower control arms have been a great help. Had a Traklink to put in but took it out to try this.

This is as simple as it gets so far. I have it in the svo now hanging till I can replace the bolts and clean up for the rear mounts. Will get some pic's later this week.
Brakes are stopping me for a bit. Looking for a set of calipers to put on. and I have to move my fuel lines and brake lines. Also new exhaust. Maybe a dump after the axle. Who knows.

What year IRS? If it is pre 03, go ahead and do bushing and bracing upgrade before installing it.
That way you don't have to take it back down after installing

Exhaust and mufflers run underneath in IRS cars. You can ride up and take a look at the wife's cobra if needed when you get to that point

I don't think the factory exhaust would look bad with some different tips. Would look cool with the pipes snaking out from underneath the svo

Bushings look good for now. Spending money on brakes. Y pipe and duel 2.5" will work nicely. Or a single 3"
Going to get a brace and install it soon. Got some time before spring!

They may look good but OEM bushings in the 99-01 IRS's are to soft and will wheel hop like a bitch. Trust me.

What do you have to do with the brakes?

Even the '03s benefit from MM IRS subframe bushings. They're not expensive, and I'd highly recommend putting them in before installing the IRS. Otherwise, it's an all day job to get 'em in.

The brake were not on the irs. Looking on ebay for some. Have to find some and install. Not to mention run new brake lines and adjuster for them.
The old bushings Do I have to drill them out like the control arms I rebuilt. That sucked.
