Help with a coolant prob..

Well its not actually a problem, but the check coolant or check fan light, whatever that light is, will not go off. It does however go off for a minute then come back on. I've checked everything and can't figure it out....any suggestions?

Go to Autozone, Advance, or O'Reilley's and have them read the codes from the computer. It's possible that it is just a sensor going out.

Sometimes the sensor itself will go bad, that maybe a problem

that's what i thought....(the coolant level sensor) well i went to Ford cuz i couldn't find it anywhere. They said that on the 96-94 the sensor comes witht the entire coolant tank...he said they hardly ever go out, but of course he wouldn't tell me what it was cuz they wanted me to bring my car in.

What about the thermostat....i was thinking and when i bought the car it didn't have one in it at all....so i put a 180 degree in it. This light came on a little while after that..could that be related?

They go out all the time on used cars we sell. No idea about the thermostat though

This is a very common problem on the 94-98. It's a coolant level sensor and Ford is correct it is in the coolant tank which is considered one part by Ford. It won't cause any problems other than annoyance as long as you check your coolant regularly. Mine has been on for over 2 yrs and I have had no problems with it.
