few more questions
i started my tear down on my cobra last night and got a real suprise. let me start off by saying when i bought this car the guy told me the motor had recently been rebuild because of two bent rods due to a big water puddle. So after i bought the car i noticed that i was having to add oil and there was no leaks. Was hoping it was the heads that might not of been worked. Now back to my findings pulled heads off and #1 and #8 cylinders are distroyed. both have small cracks in the wall and #8 looks like someone took a ice cream scoop and dipped a nice big chunk of cylinder wall for a snack. Called the guy i bought the car from (a really good friend) he said his insurance company made him take the car to there mechanic shop to fix it. i guess the guy replaced the rods and put the motor back together and did nothing else. i cant believe the cylinder wall on #8 didnt completely come apart.
So now to my questions im having to build my bottom end sooner than planned. need help with parts.it is going to be boosted p1sc procharger. going with a 306. what comp ratio do i need. heads are Trick Flow® Twisted Wedge® Street Cylinder Heads 61cc. is there a good crank, rod, piston kit made. what is a good cam that has a rough idle(i want it to sound good) but is made for boost. wanting to buy parts tomorrow. or does anyone have a short block for sale.

I would go with a basic eagle, scat or probe kit...but since you're looking for a block anyway, it would probably be a good idea to just go for a shortblock. CHP is good. BB&T is good too. I would use either one of them and make sure the pistons are cut for a TW head and pay the extra for the "dished" piston. It will keep your compression down in the 8.5:1 area. A flat top would probably still work with the 306, but you would need to pay closer attention to the timing and tune especially with the procharger.
For a cam, it's hard to beat the Trick Flow stage 1 cam on a 306. It is inexpensive and will love that Procharger too. The short block might come with this cam as an option, or just buy it at Skummit.

AFM blower cams work nicely too. a lot of their cams are designed for the trickflow heads. If you decide to use one of their cams call them and see what they recommend

how much power are you wanting and are you wanting your shortblock to be a stock block based or dart block based?

Before track day! yikes. Get a short block.
Here's the Forged shortblock: http://www.coasthigh.com/product-p/10684-ps-f306-sb.htm This one's a little cheaper (cast crank), but still a nice setup: http://www.coasthigh.com/product-p/p2305f-gt-f306-sb.htm

FYI. 03slobra has a DSS 331 in his orange/black coupe that has seen a LOT of nitrous track time and has not had any problems with it
