Mount it to the side of the cluster housing. It's easier to replace than the entire dash and you can find them pretty cheap, so putting the car back to stock won't be a problem. Go ahead and buy one now and store it for future restoration.

In order to live up to the name "Project Redneck" you have to drill holes in the dash and install it with wood screws.

Monster Tach? Why not use the stock tach and wire in a shift light? It's easier to mount.
