oil pressure

ok i have what i think is low oil pressure for my 01 5spd gt since my gauges done have numbers just an H and a L and mine sits on the low side i bought and frpp oil pump and pick up tube and i want to install it but all the bs that goes along with it makes me not wanna do it when i rev it up the oil pressure dont move done changed my sending unit and when i replaced it it did move a little so im thinkin my pump may be bad, pick up tube is clogged, or where the oil filter screws on may be clogged also

Had a friend that the oil pump went out on his 03 gt 4.6. Motor dies really quick. He had been running it for a while when he saw the gauge. Wonder what the noise was. 37k on the engine.

yeah low oil pressure on an OHC car is a bad situation. but the ford stock gauges are also not worth crap. your car could blow up before that gauge moves.

I would check your oil pressure with a external gauge before replacing anything.

that's one way to do it.

the other way would be to buy you a cheap MECHANICAL oil pressure gauge KIT from the parts store and put it in place of your stock sending unit. Then crank the car and watch it...

unless there's a better suggestion?
