Need some piston and rod help.

Im looking for a good set of pistons and h beam rods for my turbo 351w project. I have trickflow twisted wedge heads, 61cc combustion chamber, standard 4.00 bore. I want to keep it a standard bore the motor only has maybe 10,000 miles on it. I want stock length h-beam rods, forged pistons, and Im planning on running the stock crank. Any suggestions would help. I have found a couple of different sets of rods, but most all pistons are for .30 over engines. Thanks

Check with chp. I got my 388 stock bore from them.

If you are going to spend the money on that, why not go ahead and buy a stroker kit? Changing that many parts in your setup and not going ahead and stroking it doesn't make sense to me. My .02

I want a good reliable 650 to 700hp street car I can make that with just the rods , pistons, and a girdle I would be afraid to try and push anymore than that on a stock block. The only reason I am looking for h beam rods and pistons is I don't want one of the hypercraptic pistons to screw up my turbo kit.

Talk to Mark O'Neal at Probe/Coast High Performance. He can get you what you need as long as your are honest with him up front about how much actual hp you plan on making he will get you setup with the right parts.....

Also I agree with the post above since you already have to buy rods & pistons why not do a 408 stroker with dished pistons? Unless of course you are like me on this latest build that I am working on and running out of money....

The 351W is plenty for that turbo. The stock 351W cranks are good at 600hp too, so long as the tune is good. But that goes for all the parts. LOL.

Probe Pistons has a line of nice pistons and their imported H-beams are nice. You will have to check the clearances on the journals, as with any setup, but price is right for sure. Call and talk to Eric Cady (sales manager) and tell him Matt from Supernatural Turbo sent you. Eric's an old mustang fan anyway. He might discount, or charge more. LOL.

Yeah but the first thing you know he will want to be upgrading the turbo and turning the boost up some more...then he will want a dart block and 1000rwhp....

That stuff is a little out of my price range for at least 4 years. I have to get my 2 year old son out of daycare then I'll have the extra $550.00 a month to build the big bad motor. This is just to get me by until then. And this turbo made over 600hp at low boost it has already been upgraded.
