8.8 bearing surface question?

Taking apart a spare 8.8 I have from a 94 gt. The caps and bearing surface in the rearend are both knurled. I'm assuming this isn't factory? If not will it be ok to still use this rear? The knurls look great

Found out it is factory. Was done to housings that had an overbore
