What brand of belt are you using?
Reason for asking is, that I was told to NEVER use the "grip" style Reichard pulley with a Goodyear Gatorback belt...will chew it up every time. Seems the pulley's teeth combined with the Gatorback belt is a sure fire recipe for disaster. Was told that a regular Gates belts would work fine with the "grip" style RR pulley......hope this helps.

I'm just used to a clean engine bay, and since I moved to Tuscaloosa I haven't been able to clean it up. As a result, the dust has built up a little. The pictures doesn't really do it justice - I actually made that picture to email to Doug at Billetflow to make sure it was normal for anodizing to be wearing off the idler pulley where the edge of the belt rides.

Tim said running any kind of poly cog belt with a reichard pulley was fine, said it would make more belt dust though.

Can't tell by the picture, does the belt have cross hatches on it? Some gates have a cross grove to help with slipping, but they are not recomended on SC's.
