Regular Maintenance

The Cobra has 31,000 and some change on it right now, and after the Dragon will have over 32,000. At what mileage should you change plugs, fuel filter, etc? Other than oil changes and a set of tires, nothing has been touched.

Re: Regular Maintenance

I would say your plugs are probably fine but normally I would consider changing plugs at 30K on a N/A car. People will recommend sooner on a S/C'ed car.

I just changed my plugs and they had been in for over a year and the plugs looked brand new. I'd say changing the plugs wouldn't be a bad idea on a 30,000 mile supercharged car.

Other than that, check you belt, fluid levels, etc.

Re: Regular Maintenance

How about the S/C oil?
I would atleast check the level.

If it were me, I would probably also change the tranny fluid, and bleed the brake system (especially after going to the Dragon).

The diff. fluid, coolant and P/S are probably fine until 50k, even then most people don't ever change those (or not before 100k) but I would on my vehicle.

Re: Regular Maintenance

The brake fluid is getting changed after I get back, and we'll bleed the system then. I may hold off a little while until I do front rotors and front/rear pads, but it won't be long.

I don't even know how to check the S/C oil. I ASSumed it was fed from the engine oil supply.

ON the Eaton S/C there is a plug usually on the front snout section that you can pull out to check the oil level. If you want to change it, you can suck the fluid out with a turkey baster and a small tube attached to the end.

Atleast this was true on the GTP Eaton S/C that I had, and I believe that it is true on all Eaton s/c. Check the owners manual to be sure.

I believe your supposed to check the level every 30k and change the fluid at 100k.

Re: Regular Maintenance

No need to change to fluid yet in the Eaton but I would check it as well. If you ever take it of to get ported they will change the oil and re-grease everything for you. I would put some plugs in there for as cheap as they are and it may take you 20 minutes for all 8...piece of cake.
