I finally got my 10 on motor. Nothing different really other than upping the launch rpm 500 to 6500 rpm and running Sunoco 100 unleaded. The 100 unleaded actually resulted in a 1 mph slower trap speed and I am going back to 92 pump gas the next time out.

Thanks, I am just happy to get that monkey off my back. I just came back from Cedar Falls Raceways, 'Night Of Fire' and have some ideas on what I want to do next but we will see.....lol.

Edgar, If you read this, I called your house several times but it was busy. I left a message on your cell phone.

Ed, excellent! Beside the launching, did the car stopped the sway at top end like you were experiencing. Now that is moving, you shifting at 7000rpm right? Looking at the 330 ft mark, it has a 10.70s. Sorry about the phone, but my Son was on the phone with his Girlfreind and left my cell in my wifes car. Good job:

Ed, excellent! Beside the launching, did the car stopped the sway at top end like you were experiencing. Yeah, it did. I found I was the one moving the wheel a bit during the shifts. The car is setup pretty good with the suspension. I just need to work on my hand position and keeping the wheel steady during my shifting. It worked great.

Now that is moving, you shifting at 7000rpm right? Yeah, I changed my launch rpm to 6,500 rpm with the aluminum flywheel and still shift at 7,000 rpm. It seems to work pretty good.

Looking at the 330 ft mark, it has a 10.70s. Andy Burnett was saying the same thing. I know there is more in it with cooler fall weather. This is still the middle of summer and the car should get faster in better air. I would love to see a 10.70 out of it.

Sorry about the phone, but my Son was on the phone with his Girlfreind and left my cell in my wifes car. Good job: No problem. I just wanted you to know I wasn't blowing you off. I called your cell and left a message.

I am thinking of going to a higher reving cam setup next year. Something that will reliably get me to 8,000 rpm shift points. I have been up there this year but my cam isn't making power there. 7,000 is best for now. I would like to use a Jesel shaft mounted setup, Super Victor converted to EFI, a bit more compression and maybe switch to some 4.88 or 5.13 gears. We will see. I went to CFR's 'Night of Fire' last night and saw all these high winding cars on motor running deep in the 8's and thought that would be the ticket. I want to look towards low 10's and MAYBE high 9's on motor for my future setup. My engine is nuetral balanced with forged parts so the rpm shouldn't be a factor. Just some random thoughts for next year. :chug:

I know high 9's is REALLY optomistic but the low 10's is definetly in reach with the aforementioned parts. We will see.

Congratulations on the numbers, Ed! I knew you would get there once you raised your launch rpm/shift rpm...

And, welcome to the board!

Hello Richard, good to see you as well. Thanks.

It took a while but the car can do it and I know it will now....lol. I was begining to wonder what it was going to take to make it. ;)
