tranmission opinions

i am getting finatial support for my "little ellie" project
my grandad has agreed to pay for my tranny getting fixed or a replace ment my qeustion is, is there a six speed that would drop inplace of a t-5 in my 91 fox 5.0 if i can get the full kit (tranny, crossmember ,bellhousing ect.) i would like a price and a pic and where i could get it i cant have my grandad searching around for mixed matched stuff or if the six speed option doesnt work out i would like a completly rebiult world class or same level t-5 that is internally brand new(good for the next 100k miles)

thank everyone
taylor

D&D offers a complete 6-speed kit.
As far as mixing and matching parts, you can't because you have to have a custom driveshaft when installing a t-56 in a fox

The internals of a T-5 have little to do with its longevity; that's more dependant on the way it is driven. A worn out T-5 could easily last over 200K miles if driven conservatively (no clutch drops, easy shifing, no power adder, etc.), On the other hand, a brand new T-5 could go out in less than 10,000 if it has been beat on teally hard.

An earlier TKO or a newer tremec would be a good choice. Or a G-force T5. Call Astro Transmission or ProMotion Powertrain.

just got don doing some research about the tremec 3550 sound to me like ive just got to buy thje right bellhousing and it will hook right up is this correct? and if it is this easy anybody got one or know anybody that has one for sale ? and if no one has one then ill just have to settle for a rebuilt t-5 which is very common but still if you have one from here and your in bama post a price and evrything

T56 won't just "bolt in place." Different mounts, driveshaft, bellhousing, shifter, etc...

The G-force kit in a T5 woudl be your best bet. Excellent trans (up to about 500hp) and everything fits as a stocker would. Again. Astro Performance or ProMotion Powertrain has them, or you can send one to them for the work.
