What point should a street/strip car swap to auto?
Should you go auto once you hit 10s on a regular basis? Or wait until the 9.9s? Whattaya'll (damn I spend too much time on an AL site ) think??

IMO, go auto when the car has gone to pretty much a track only car.

But a guy on the local board is swapping and is only making like 480rwhp. He says that the car would be a clutch killer

Maybe that guy needs to learn how to drive a stick....Bob Hanlon hasn't gone to an auto and he is making more than that

I personally would stay stick as long as possible and as long as it was a street car.
But sometimes when your tired, it'd be nice to just be able to floor it and take off without rowing gears.

When ever you feel like it, or just break too much crap.

I am with Chip, go to an auto when YOU feel like it. I definitely prefer a stick on the street, but a GOOD auto is fun to drive at the track. My cousin's coupe is putting down less than 400 on a 100 shot, but the car is still a blast to take down the strip.

It totally depends on the clutch and trans you are running if your making more power, you need better driveline components. As far as auto vs. manual, I agree with the others, I think it is pewrsonnel preferance, until you can't shift fast enough, or if your are not consistant.
