Show me your painted calipers.

I am planning on painting my calipers to go with my new rotors.

Show me yours.

What paint did you use?
What did you use to prepare the surface? Brake Cleaner, Alcohol, etc?

I'd also like to do this while their on the car if possible.

Thanks,
Brad

Re: Show me your painted calipers.

I painted mine black when I did my brakes and I used carb cleaner. It cleaned them real good and evaporates quick.

Black would be cool as well for me. I think silver or black would be easier to make look good than red. Guess all depends on paint and prep.

Re: Show me your painted calipers.

The ones I got from Whit are painted red.(although not installed as of yet)

I am thinking he had them on the car when painted because the strut had red overspray on it.Thjey are painted with Plasti-Coat engine enamel and it appears to be on there really well.

Ya'll keep one thing in mind.Do NOT allow brake fluid to contact the paint for it will cause lifting and the paint will come off.

This red is on very solid and covered damn good.He evidently spent a bit of time doing it right.
