new to the boards..need some help
i have an 89 5.0 hatchback with 4.10 Auburn Posi Track, AOD Shift Kit, 2100 Stall B&M torque convertor, Stock Heads and Intake Extrude Honed, B303 Ford Motor Sport Cam, 1.6 Roller Rockers, 76mm C&L Mass air calibrated for 19lbs, 19lb injectors, BBK Fenderwell Cold Air Intake, 65mm throttle body, Spintech X-pipe with High flow Cats, Spintech Side-Exit Exhaust, 1 5/8 Shortie Flowtech headers, Underdrive Pulleys, ford motorsport 9 mm wires and tweecer rt..i know for one part of my problem with the car being slow is that the cam comes in at 3500 and well the torque convertor is a 2100...doesnt match too well...that was done before i got the car and im also pretty sure that the intake mani is checkin out by the time the cam is kickin in or shortly after...i know i should prolly change the heads lookin at AFR's, i should prolly change the cam looked at isky for that im not sure tho, as for intake mani i like the bbk ssi but ive also thought about a kenne bell but dont know how much boost i could run safely without saying bye bye to the bottom end...o the reason i said the car is slow is my best time in it on 255 eagle f1 gs d3s is...
r/t .067 60' 2.298 330' 6.288 1/8 9.546 mph 75.52 1000' 12.347 1/4 14.718 mph 94.91 with 213 hp i know that number is weak for the mods but i know the car should be good for low to mid 14's if not faster... i guess what i am asking is does anyone have any easy way other than parts swapping to get at least a safe tune on the car so that i dont have to worry about blowing it up??...lol...i know thats not funny but im really getting frustrated with the car but its freakin beautiful with the body work ive done i dont wanna give up on it Chris heres a pic of the car if anyone wants to take a look

Re: new to the boards..need some help
nice ride. there are several Tweeker guys on here that i am sure can give you some pointers on the tuning. as far as getting faster, the AOD is not helping. really the mods you have seem to be more supporting than power building (someone may want to correct me on that statement). i dont really think 213 rwhp is too bad coming thru a auto tranny considering what mods you have.

Welcome to the boards, that car should have a 13 in it if youcould get those 60's down in the 1.xx range. My 95 mad 214rwhp and 272rwtq and ran 13.5 with 1.8 60's back when it was virgin to the track.

Re: new to the boards..need some help
unless you plan on going further with your mods in the future....here is my recomendation.take the tweecer off an dgo back to the stock electronics.get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and tune the car through base adjustments such as fuel pressure and timing....if you plan on modifying the car further just keep the tweecer and use it later.
also how about a 5 speed conversion....that will make it faster as well |

Re: new to the boards..need some help
Dude. You are waaaaaaaay to lean! As lean as your car is running you will probably pick up another 20 hp at the wheels, if not more, by richening it up. Get it down to where the a/f ratio is in the high 13's or lower.
qkjuiced is right, the tweecer is overkill unless you are running heads, cam, intake, or power adder
