Re: gonna need to retune

TwEECer if you don't care to spend a lot of time learning how it works and why it works.

www.JMSchip.com if you just want it to work right now and rish leaving some drivability and power on the table.

Re: gonna need to retune

definately a compression change, by about .5:1

fuel/air flow increase because of BBK intake... part # 5001(anyone got anything on that intake let me know)

longer cam... like 490;490; 240 ;127 respectively (the only way the #'s fit) which will change my timing

lighter rods, pistons, and valve train... allowing for a higher rev limiter... stuff like that...
and i want a better performance setup in my computer overall...

i will post pictures when i get started... i gotta make a new main bolt, because i can't find one with the right thread and head match...
(im gonna lathe down a 1/2 inch bolt with the right size head)
vat the block, and heads AND...
and i am waiting on a cam... one way or another... everthing else is ready

Re: gonna need to retune

ARP makes them as well.

Technically you are not suppose to re-use main bolts

Re: gonna need to retune

thats what i thought too... but i talked to FORD and every engine shop in my area... and they said that as long as they torque to the requirement then they are good... and i work on helicopters... with grade 8 and 4340 most of the time... and as long as they meet "double" torque requirements they are fine...
the engine max RPM is 7500 stock... and the main rotor turns up to 20000 rpm...
im really not worried too much... but if you got the bolts and we can figure out how to get them to me it would be muy helpful... i am just trying to get the damn thing on the road so i can get it back to my garage... instead of the car sitting in a parking lot at my work, and my engine in the back of my truck... (SUV)

Re: gonna need to retune

IIRC The Ford main bolts are reusable and the head bolts are the only ones that are TTY. I worked at a machine shop for a while and we always reused them, but got new head bolts.
