How much boost is too much?
I have a Vortech V1 charger thats putting out 6psi right now.
I would like to change the crank pulley & the blower pulley. What size can I goto? How much boost can I get out of this charger without killing it? Also I planned to upgrade to 42lb injectors, larger mass air & 75mm T/B. edit: What is this charger called? A-Trim?? S-Trim?? & will pulleys from other Vortechs work as long as they are the same rib? Thanks Carl

Re: How much boost is too much?
I believe it would a S trim.
Depending on your tune you could go up to 14 psi

Re: How much boost is too much?
How old is the blower? A-trim's also said V1 on the housing. I spun an A up to 13psi, but it wasn't very efficient. Went to a T-trim from there and the same pulley setup made 17#'s. T-trim=much more efficiency!
If it came with the 5-6# setup than it's either a A or SC-trim. The SC is the old S-trim, so they can be spun pretty high. So, we just need to know a little more info on the head unit. |

Re: How much boost is too much?
I don't know about that part number, but the V1 could be an A-trim or an S-trim. Depends on the compressor wheel. If it has curved edges, it's an S-trim. Max around 14-15 psi. THe A-trim: about 9-10 psi. After that, they are generating more heat & you're better off upgrading the cam, etc.. to take the extra air.

Re: How much boost is too much?
I believe that's the SC trim. Nice blower either way. Take it to 10 at the very least.
