tire question

I have noticed lately on well worn roads that have the distinctive dip in the tire lanes that my car wants to drift and almost swerve.

Down in Destin the roads are terribly worn in that area and it is quite difficult to drive and keep the car from wanting to move around.NO problems on smoothe roads at all.

Do I possibly have a tire problem or do these 40's just not take well to a badly worn road?

Re: tire question

Wide tires follow grooves in the road. Dont worry, its nothing out of the ordinary.

Re: tire question

That's normal. I really noticed it with tires bigger than 245s. My GT didn't do it too bad, but the 275s on the Cobra follow every little groove in the road.

Re: tire question

Yeah I have the same problem, figured it was part of having a wider tire...

Re: tire question

It's to the point when I am in Destin I get real nervous driving back from Hard Rock or some other bar, worrying the cops might think I am DUI because the damn car moves around so much in the lanes.......

Maybe they can repave the road and I will feel more at ease.....

Quintard and Noble Street Hate my car. I feel like I am going to hit the curb. I am fighting the car. On good roads...it rides much better since I got two new shoes on the back.

I-20 is bad, but the new parts that are complete are excellent. You must be talking about the half-way done sections.

On topic: My coupe does the same thing on the same sections of I-20 every day. It's even worse when it rains.
