Pos 1 Security settings

Hi Tuners,

I was wondering what would be the best way to disable the car?

With the switch removed, pos 1 is default.

What has worked for you guys?

Re: Pos 1 Security settings

You could change the firing order on position one. It won't start then.

Or, you could set a speed limiter for 1 mph. They could only creep away.

Or, a rev limiter at 900 rpm - any time they give it gas, it would simply sputter and die...

Re: Pos 1 Security settings

Depends on what you are wanting to do.

If you are trying to defend against thieves, then you need to car to at least drive away or else most insurance companies will chalk it up as "vandalism."

If you are doing a "valet" mode to keep the local parts monkeys from beating on your car, then you have to at least keep the car drivable. If not, I think someone could sue you for damages after being broadsided by an 18 wheeler.

On mine, I set anything over 60% load to pull half of its normal spark. Anything above 45 mph I have it pull half of its normal spark and pull all of its spark at 50 mph. This way the car can still be driven normally, but if they start to get on it the TwEECer will interfere.
